The 2004 and 2005 Raw Arts Festivals were held at the Candid Arts Trust in London and exhibited artworks by Autistic adults, LGBT artworks, Homeless artists, artists on the fringes, artists with epilepsy, artists from different ethnographic groups, professional types, etc. The festival thus aimed to prove that people from all kinds of backgrounds (class, status, wealth, religion, race, etc) are capable of producing truly great art and can come together under one roof to celebrate our common humanity. the 2006 Festival was held in Spain, the 2007 Festival was held in New York and the 2008 Festival was held in Los Angeles. The 2006 and 2007 Festivals were co-organized with the New York Arts Magazine

This website is an online record of the best artists/organizations to have exhibited at least one of the Festivals mounted. The London festivals succeeded in bringing together many different people from vastly different backgrounds and cultures as detailed earlier. The 2005 Raw Arts Festival remains one of the most successful exhibitions of self-taught/raw art ever to be mounted in London.
